Licensed Post Offices are a critical part of Australia Post’s retail network, and the Retail Channel Marketing team is committed to supporting the marketing of products and services through the best methods available.

The Digital Media System (DMS) gives licensees access to a low cost, low maintenance digital signage service similar to that currently in our corporate outlets Australia wide.

The solution is built on a bring your own screen, self install system that has been designed to make digital signage as easy to use and accessible as we can for Licensees.

Why should you install digital signage?

Because digital signage is better! Australia Post (and hundreds of other large retailers) has been using digital signage in their retail stores for many years and to great effect. It’s helped increase awareness of lesser-known services and products, while simultaneously making life easier for retail staff.

A 2014 study found that digital signage received 400% more viewers than traditional signage in a retail store, and helped reduce perceived wait times by 35% during peak periods.

Additionally, it led to a 30% increase in customer retention of a product or service being advertised using digital signage.

All of that, plus you don’t have to worry about putting up and taking down your promotional signage at the correct times, saving you and your staff time and stress.

You Supply

  • Screen

    You supply whatever display you'd like, as long as it is a full HD display with an HDMI port.

  • Power

    You'll require a spare power point near your display for the DMS player to be connected to.

  • Internet Connection

    We support WiFi and ethernet, but strongly recommend ethernet for reliability.

With the introduction of the DMS Control panel, licensees can make changes to their content selection quickly and easily.

You can choose from dozens of product categories and kinds of content, including community messages, live foreign exchange pricing and live, local weather forecasts, with more to come!

Content is automatically added and removed at the correct times for promotions and specials, and if you want something a little different for your outlet, you can make your own custom content using the custom content builder.

What gets shown on my screen?

Screen Location

Australia Post usually locates screens where the most dwell time occurs. This differs in different outlets, but is normally where customers queue at the counter.

Consider the kind of screen you are installing as well. Screens positioned in full sunlight will need to be much brighter than screens that are fully indoors and out of direct sunlight. We recommend purchasing commercial  grade screens for screens in full sunlight as they are better suited to this kind of application. There are also a couple of mounting solutions to consider for your screens.

Freestanding

Perfect for placing on the sales floor or for giving you the ability to place the screen wherever your customers tend to dwell. Also great for experimenting with your screen location.

Wall Mounted

A more permanent solution. Often used for behind the counter or for welcome screens near the outlet's entryway. Looks more professional and allows cables to be completely hidden.

The LPO DMS system is a monthly subscription, system cost is covered by Australia Post Marketing for at least the first 12 months.

 FAQs

  • Content is created and uploaded by Australia Post. You can choose what product categories and services are relevant to your outlet to ensure only the correct content is displayed on your screen.

  • Wifi connections are far less reliable than wired ones. Almost 90% of our support requests are because of problems with the outlet’s Wifi.

  • The DMS player uses just a few watts, less than a power saving light bulb. It can also help you save power by automatically turning your tv off after closing, and back on when you open!

  • Generally, you should receive your player in a few days. Unfortunately, supply chain issues for the players mean there may be some small delays.

  • New content is added weekly to ensure your players are always showing the most up-to-date content from Australia Post.

  • Just submit a support request on the control panel and we’ll get back to you ASAP

  • The DMS system assists licensees in better educating customers about promotions, services and products available, giving more opportunity for sale conversions at the counter and on the shop floor.

  • Yes! Using the custom content builder, available through the control panel, you can generate your own DMS content catered to your oulet. All custom content is subject to approval by Australia Post.

  • Installation is as simple as installing an Apple TV or Chromecast.
